    Dear sir,

navicomputer seems to be great but
i (newbee in gps) managed to download maps en to record and save a track.

In the features i read "Offline map navigation without internet connection/dataplan" so i suppose it is possible to navigate along a previously recorded track. I dont find how to do so.

I also read"Gpx-files can be imported as well, so for example you can follow imported tracks on the map" but gpx files i download from a garmin users website could not be imported??
Which gpx files can be imported? Does it depend on the right map/scale that must be downloaded before?
Is it possible to follow a gpx track with navicomputer.

    sorry,

    found the answers on http://forum.xda-developers.com

Please add this to the manual or FAQ:

    Problem:
Navicomputer doesn't recognize a lot of gpx-files created by Garmin users.
    Solution
First open and save the gpx-file with the freeware EasyGPS on your computer. Navicomputer will recognize it now.

  4. luc saint Says:

Opening/saving the file with Easy GPS doesn't work if the creator of the gpx-files used waypoints/routes in stead of tracks.
In this case the freeware GPSBabel helps.
Convert from gpx tot gpx and set the filter option to Transform Routes -> Tracks.

I cannot get the GPS to work - any ideas. Other gps applications are working fine.

  8. Tippy Says:

    MATTHIAS,

".....can't get GPS to work" doesn't tell me much. NaviComputer does not need any special GPS configuration, but works off the settings in Windows OS itself.

Did you activate the GPS option in the Menu? The "flag" in the upper right corner of the map screen should turn yellow if the GPS is searching for a fix, and green when it locks. It will also say "searching" while yellow.

Try to provide a bit more information please. It's like telling me "My car won't start". :)

    Regards,
    Tippy

    Hi
I am still testing the NaviCOMPUTER.
I am using a Acer M-900 with built in GPS.
There are two things which I am missing:
    1. Last week I did track a route with the tracker..
After tracking I did save the file.
Now how can I see the route I did track?

    2. If I would like to use the NaviComputer in the car
to navigate from one place to a other place:
    How does that work?
Does it give voice which tells me wenn to go left or right?
    or followe which road?

  10. Tippy Says:

    RONALD,

Start NaviComputer, click on the GPX icon. Select the track you wish to have NaviComputer display. Track should show on the map screen. If it does not, then insure that the GPS has locked on to your current position, OR have the desired location in the center of the main map screen. Zoom down to whatever level shows the track in red.

    Regards,
    Tippy

    Hello,

if i start i got a "Search" message in the upper right corner. It always stays in this condition (0/0).
Windows settings should be ok, because other GPS-Tools are working.
Settings in Windows are: Device COM4 and the setting for an auto. managing of the GPS is set.
    I've got a MDA-phone with WindowsMobile6 and integrated GPS-Receiver.
    Processor: OMAP850

    Hi,
I am using Navimapper to download map images. However, when I compare the GoogleMap files and the GoogleSatellite files, I find the satellite image was shifted (both image files are at the same zoom level). I want to know is it possible for me to get both image file coherence?

  13. Salim Says:

    Hi

I saw lots of requests for maps merging, perhaps thats because of the limitations of NaviMapper downloader. Here developers can work for these suggestions:

1- Only 8 zoom levels of map can be downloaded at once, so if you want to download street level map till 18, the maximum zoom levels range you can choose is 11-18, due to this at zoom level 18 you can hardly download a detailed map of a big city, for a medium/ small country, its impossible to download in one file. developers can try to increase this zoom levels range (8 levels maximum currently).

2- Before X button at the top right of the Navimapper, there is maximise button [] but it is disabled, if it could be enabled, larger area in the map screen will allow users wider area of map to download.

    Any other suggestions??

    Hi,

Mobile Atlas Creator is not to bad for downloading of maps but doesn´t support NaviComputer. How about trying to match those two?

    kind regards

    Hi,

great tool! In particular nice for hiking, cycling, riding and for countries which are not yet covered by my Navigon.

But my NaviComputer seems to have problems with the access on memory cards.

When I set up the directory for maps on my memory card and then try to open the menu "Offline maps" - my NaviComputer causes an error and stops with an long error message "InvalidOperationException....."

    Kind Regards
